BioSilta has dedicated the last two years to developing the unique EnBase product, which it believes will radically improve a researcher’s timetable.

Extensive testing has been carried out by the Bioprocess Engineering Laboratory, Department of Process and Environmental Engineering, Oulu University, Finland.

The EnBase optimisation has centred around the use of E.coli but initial work with B.subtilis has shown equally positive results.

Testing has shown that, in comparison with traditional shaken batch cultivations, EnBase:

• produces up to 50 times more of the required organisms
  
• prompts growth of 10 times more recombinant protein in a single plate and significantly more soluble active product (lower aggregation)
