About BioSilta

We currently have two EnBase products available, the 96 well standard plate and the 1 litre shake flask product.

Please see below for comparison and prices.

96 well standard plate product

  • EB96S06 EnBase 6 plate Cultivation Set, (60 well capacity per plate) €320
  • EB96S12 EnBase 12 plate Cultivation Set, (60 well capacity per plate) €625

1 litre Shake flask product

  • EBSF02 EnBase shake flask, 2 flask Cultivation Set. €110
  • EBSF05 EnBase shake flask, 5 flask Cultivation Set. €250
  • EBSF10 EnBase shake flask, 10 flask Cultivation Set. €475

96 well standard plate product specification:

  • Glucose limited fed-batch EnBase technology. Glucose is released enzymatically from the polymer matrix that is attached on the bottom of the wells.
  • Maximum cultivation volume is 150 µl. Original well volume is 400 µl, of which the gel takes 150 µl.
  • 60 Cultivations per plate, outermost wells of 96-well plate are used for humidification of the plate.
  • Applicable strains: W3110, RB791, RV308, BL21 and its DE3 derivatives, Rosetta.
  • Not recommended: Strain specific genetic markers: amino acid auxothrophy, relA and spot mutants, redox mutants.
  • Minimal mineral salt medium MSM-medium recommended to obtain glucose fed-batch type process. Addition of complex compounds is possible, but MSM-medium is recommended to be used as basis to obtain high cell densities
  • Humidity: 60 % of relative air humidity in the cultivation chamber to avoid precipitation.
  • Shaker suitable for plate cultivations has a small amplitude and high speed. The speed shall be adjusted to avoid culture transfer to the plate closure.
  • Use plates within 5 weeks of purchase, Store as instructed within user manual.

1 litre Shake flask product specification:

  • Glucose limited fed-batch EnBase technology. Glucose is released enzymatically from the polymer matrix that is attached on the bottom of the flask.
  • Recommended cultivation volume is 150ml, which is less than 20% of the flasks free volume for efficient oxygen transfer.
  • Applicable strains: W3110, RB791, RV308, BL21 and its DE3 derivatives, Rosetta. o Not recommended: Strain specific genetic markers: amino acid auxothrophy, relA and spot mutants, redox mutants.
  • Media Applications: Minimal mineral salt medium (MSM) recommended to obtain the desired glucose fed-batch type process. Addition of complex compounds is possible, please consult us.
  • Baffled shake flasks recommended with shaking speed of less than 200rpm, 50mm amplitude, for greatest gel to flask retention.
  • Use within 6 months of purchase, Store as instructed within user manual.
