EnBase^® technology:
a powerful tool for yeast biotransformations

Screening of microbial whole cell transformations can be simplified by using the EnBase technology to obtain a high cell density culture in smaller cultivation volumes.

The EnBase^® Flo Yeast Medium allowed for more efficient screening of microbial whole cell biotransformations. In a study performed in conjunction with BioWorx (Berlin, Germany), EnBase Flo Yeast medium was able to provide better performance than standard medium.

• Higher cell densities
• Increased conversion of 2-Butanone to 2-Butanol
• Enantioselectivity was improved in 15 of 20 yeast strains
• Six strains were able to reach enantioselectivity of >97% (0 in standard YED medium)
